Bobby Neel Adams
I found the artist Bobby Neel Adams online, and quickly fell in love with the concepts of his work. ALthough he works in different mediums, my favorite pieces were his photographs. In his 'Couples', 'AgeMaps' and 'FamilyTree' galleries, he takes two separate photographs, tears them, and fuses them into one. In the Couples gallery, photographs were taken from each significant other, while the 'FamilyTree' took photographs from direct relatives, such as a mother and daughter, or father and son. The gallery that interested me the most was the 'AgeMaps' gallery, for it took two pictures of an individual from different periods of time and fused them together. To see pictures of individuals as child and adult made into one piece that flowed well together was remarkable. Bobby Neel Adams successfully uses his tearing method to portray similarity and difference pieces that pull the viewer in and astonish them. I find Bobby Neel Adams a great artist and genuinely enjoy his work.
